Clinical Unit Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Unit Lead to join our Endoscopy team at Wrightington Wigan & Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the team in providing evidence-based nursing care, ensuring that care is assessed, planned, implemented, and evaluated using a patient-centered approach.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience at Deputy Ward Manager/unit lead level or equivalent and possess specialist clinical skills within the appropriate field.
Key responsibilities include planning and organizational duties, responsibility for human resources, and responsibility for health and safety.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate expert specialist knowledge within chosen clinical field and up-to-date knowledge of current nursing and midwifery practice within the area.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the team in providing evidence-based nursing care
- Manage a multidisciplinary team
- Plan and organize ward activities
- Ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix
- Facilitate regular meetings with staff
- Deputize for the matron and participate in senior nurse rota
- Ensure performance standards are met
- Manage the ward environment to meet Trust objectives
- Manage own workload autonomously
- Participate in management of complaints and patient concerns
- Authorized/Accountable signatory for the unit budget
Requirements:
- Extensive experience at Deputy Ward Manager/unit lead level or equivalent
- Specialist clinical skills within the appropriate field
- Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team
- Proven teaching ability
- Ability to prioritize own workload and that of others
- Ability to work as a role model or mentor
- Able to create a positive learning environment
- Ability to motivate and lead a team
- Ability to discuss/demonstrate research-based practice
- Ability to use resources effectively
