ASC Teaching Assistant Role for Inclusive Education

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme.
This full-time role offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Condition, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development within a mainstream environment.
About the Job:The ideal candidate will provide tailored support to students, adapting resources and teaching approaches to meet individual needs. They will promote engagement, encourage participation, and build positive relationships with peers.
The successful candidate will also support students in regulating emotions and behaviours, implementing effective strategies to create a calm learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Tailored Support: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, adapting resources to meet their needs.
- Promoting Engagement: Encourage participation in classroom activities, helping students build confidence and develop positive relationships.
- Behaviour Management: Support students in regulating emotions and behaviours, creating a calm learning environment.
- Classroom Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to ensure students can access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
- Communication Support: Work with students to develop communication skills, including non-verbal methods.
- Progress Monitoring: Observe and document student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and SENCOs.
- Inclusive Learning: Promote an inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued and supported.
- Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with individuals with ASC, either in education or care settings.
- Patience and Empathy: A calm, understanding approach to working with students who may display challenging behaviours.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff members.
- Adaptability: Capable of tailoring support strategies to meet diverse student needs.
- Team Player: Willing to work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to enhance the educational experience.
This role offers a competitive salary of £22,000 - £27,500 per annum, depending on experience.
