About the Role

As a Security Test Engineer at the National Physical Laboratory, you will be part of a talented team responsible for conducting security evaluations to identify vulnerabilities in hardware, software, and platforms that underpin the UK's critical networks.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Perform security testing of hardware and software components to identify potential weaknesses.
  2. Design and implement new security testing capabilities and techniques to improve the effectiveness of our testing.
  3. Develop or script instrumentation and other test tooling for automated assessment of components.
  4. Analyse and communicate findings, weaknesses, and results from testing to the team and stakeholders.
  5. Deliver comprehensive and high-quality technical reports outlining technical risk and impact of each identified finding.

Requirements

  • SC clearance with no restrictions or ability to obtain SC clearance.
  • Strong understanding of security testing principles and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
