Estimator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team at Blaymires Recruitment Limited. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality projects by providing accurate and detailed estimates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the estimating process, including managing enquiries to sub-contractors, choosing applicable sub-contractors, and communicating bid requirements to the bid team.
  • Take ownership of the entire bid process, including liaising with architects or PQS, establishing bid requirements, and setting up tender launch meetings.
  • Complete quantity take-offs, schedules of work, and bills of quantities as required.
  • Analyse sub-contract returns and engage with the supply chain to ensure suitable returns are provided.
  • Complete elemental rate breakdowns and help manage the internal cost database.
  • Assist with multiple stage tenders, including completing preliminary costings and forms of tender.
  • Prepare required documents for tender adjudications and participate actively in the process.
Requirements:
  • HNC in Construction or relevant degree-level qualification.
  • Detailed knowledge of new build and refurbishment projects.
  • Good understanding of traditional building methods.
  • Experience working with estimating software like Esti-Mate or ConQuest.
  • Intermediate level of Excel and ability to write clear communications.
  • Strong numeracy and financial management skills.
