Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Property Underwriter to join our UK Property team in London, focusing on International Power markets. This exciting opportunity offers a dynamic role with a strong emphasis on profitable growth.

  • The successful candidate will contribute towards the development and expansion of our Property UK proposition across various distribution channels.
  • Pre-qualification of accounts and risk assessment within our company's risk appetite will be key responsibilities.
  • This role requires building and maintaining relationships with brokers and customers while underwriting accounts with high-quality analysis and documentation.
  • The ideal candidate should possess strong underwriting acumen, creative problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.
  • A deep understanding of the competitive environment and risk profile of the International Power market is essential.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Supporting the growth of our International Property business.
  • Establishing and expanding broker and customer relationships.
  • Underwriting challenging risks and developing innovative solutions.
  • Maintaining awareness of market trends and competitor activity.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of operational power underwriting experience.
  • Existing broker and customer connections or the ability to quickly develop strong relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Degree or equivalent education, and/or relevant insurance qualifications.
