Derivative Operations Specialist

The Emerald Group is seeking a highly skilled Derivative Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our asset management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our derivative activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide SME support for derivative risks and retained operations.
  • Manage daily derivative operations, ensuring effective task management and adherence to market and regulatory deadlines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and third-party providers to ensure all asset services activities are managed efficiently.
  • Monitor and reconcile collateral positions with Investment Manager and Custodian, ensuring sufficient liquidity availability for daily margin calls.
  • Identify and mitigate derivative risks, ensuring they align with our risk appetite.
  • Support third parties with agreed retained services delivery for the respective service area.
  • Utilize expertise in the asset management/investment industry to drive business growth.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of life assurance and pensions business, with a focus on bulk purchase annuities.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry developments in the UK life offices and working with regulators.
  • Apply expertise in derivatives and/or investment to drive business success within a Life Insurance company, Asset Manager, or Consultancy.
  • Ensure a deep understanding of key risk and controls needed for OTC derivatives.
