About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineering Manager to join our team at Arthur Rose Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading our site engineering teams to ensure the successful delivery of our business objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead the site engineering teams to achieve business objectives and KPIs.
  2. Develop and manage budgets, finances, and costs related to engineering maintenance, energy, utilities, and water, facilities management, projects, labour, contracts, and consumables.
  3. Drive environmental and/or energy efficiency projects to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  4. Investigate root cause analysis (RCA) and address recurring faults and engineering issues.
  5. Ensure adherence to key metrics, site compliance, standards, and regulations, including health & safety, food quality, and budgets.
  6. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, best practice, and a centre of excellence.
  7. Drive through changes and implement new ways of working.
  8. Collaborate with colleagues across departments to achieve business goals.
  9. Adhere to cleaning-in-place systems (CIP) and maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
  10. Attend training and development courses as appropriate.
Management
  1. Manage a team of engineers, including deputy engineering manager, senior project engineers, site bakery engineers, and apprentices.
  2. Organise engineering colleagues' workloads and call-out rotas.
  3. Manage rotas, call outs, holiday, health and welfare, and the training and development of all engineering personnel.
  4. Supervise staff performance and behaviours, time, and attendance.
  5. Assist with the recruitment of personnel.
  6. Provide leadership and direction to personnel, ensuring they are trained, managed, supported, engaged, focused, and delivering their potential.
  7. Ensure operational excellence within your area of responsibility for labour management and performance.
  8. Support active staff involvement, aligned towards employee engagement.
  9. Monitor employee absences, capability, and performance issues, grievances, approving holidays, and shift patterns.
  10. Communicate fully with your team, including daily tasks and requirements.
  11. Ensure your staff have acceptable personal hygiene cleanliness standards and are wearing the correct personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
  1. Experience of working as a Site Engineering Manager or similar - essential.
  2. Experience of working within a fast-food manufacturing environment - essential.
  3. Experience of managing a diverse workforce. Strong leadership skills, able to coach, mentor, and develop teams - essential.
  4. Experience of working as an electrical or mechanical engineer within an industrial setting - essential.
  5. A minimum level 3 qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering (NVQ, City and Guilds, HND or equivalent) - essential.
  6. Apprentice trained - essential.
  7. A management qualification - preferred.
