Job Overview:

The Engineering Manager will lead the commissioning of the Naval Reactor Plant, ensuring safe and efficient delivery. Key responsibilities include developing safety commissioning management arrangements, delivering a safety commissioning schedule, and assessing plant safety commissioning maturity.

The successful candidate will have a degree in an engineering or physical science discipline, with experience in the nuclear industry and nuclear regulations. Strong technical report writing and presentation skills are also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain safety commissioning management arrangements to deliver the Naval Reactor Plant.
  2. Deliver a Safety Commissioning Schedule to enable safe delivery of the Naval Reactor Plant.
  3. Assess plant safety commissioning maturity for entry into subsequent build phases.
  4. Facilitate the Reactor Plant build and commissioning delivery programme through innovative engineering solutions and problem-solving.
  5. Lead or support the resolution of safety commissioning challenges.
  6. Advise and conduct Intelligent Customer duties regarding documentation, advice, and services provided to the business relating to safety commissioning of the plant.
  7. Produce the Safety Commissioning compliance and assurance reports to support the safety case.
  8. Support the development of the team through mentorship and guidance.
  9. Write and present reports to communicate nuclear safety matters to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Degree Qualified in Engineering/Physical Science discipline; Electrical, Mechanical, Nuclear, Materials, Chemistry, Physics.
  2. Knowledge of the nuclear industry and Nuclear Regulations.
  3. Previous exposure to Engineering Lifecycle.
  4. Award of demonstrating safety commissioning a Nuclear plant.
  5. Previous Nuclear plant experience.

Desirable:

  1. Proven technical report writing skills.
  2. Presentation skills.
