About the RoleThis is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children. As a Residential Childcare Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Providing daily care and support to children and young people, promoting their physical and emotional well-being.
- Developing strong, trusting relationships with the children to provide emotional support and stability.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of the children's progress, behaviours, and any incidents.
- Supporting the children's educational needs, including helping with homework and liaising with schools.
- Participating in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices in child care, behaviour management, and therapeutic interventions.
- Engaging in reflective practice to continually improve the quality of care provided.
- Acting as an advocate for the children's needs and rights within the home and in interactions with external agencies.
- Empowering the children by involving them in decisions about their care and encouraging self-advocacy skills.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and/or relevant experience in a children's home setting.
- A strong passion for improving children's lives and a desire to develop a vocation in childcare.
- A driving license.
