Job Description

The University of Cambridge is seeking a skilled Web Engagement Manager to cover a temporary absence of the substantive postholder for a period of 4 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and improving the University's main external website (www.cam.ac.uk) during this time.

The Web Engagement Manager will utilize search engine optimization (SEO) and user-experience principles to ensure that the University's online content is up-to-date, accessible, and meets users' needs. This will involve producing and delivering strategic communications through online channels to deepen the University's relationship with its key audiences.

The role-holder will be responsible for ensuring that the University's online content is clear, simple, and easy to understand. They will act as the subject matter expert on content design and evaluation for cam.ac.uk and a portfolio of other University websites, and lead on web campaign analysis.

The successful candidate will work closely with content authors to identify training needs or content design improvements that maximize the external visibility and user-friendliness of the University's news, research, and other priority content.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve the University's main external website (www.cam.ac.uk)
  • Utilize SEO and user-experience principles to ensure online content is up-to-date and accessible
  • Produce and deliver strategic communications through online channels
  • Act as subject matter expert on content design and evaluation for cam.ac.uk and other University websites
