Job Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to work in the York area focused on rail projects, with flexibility for hybrid working. In this role, you will manage multiple projects and engage directly with clients to develop their design concepts from inception to completion. This position offers a competitive salary, a great work/life balance with early finishes on Fridays, and an excellent benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple electrical design projects and liaise with clients to refine their design concepts.
Participate in project and client meetings, preparing concept plans and briefs.
Use design and drawing software to produce high-quality electrical designs, calculations, and reports.
Review designs and collaborate with the design team to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Report progress and project-related items to the lead.
Provide technical support to electricians and sub-contractors.
Produce technical documentation, test procedures, and engineering deliverables on time and on budget.
Identify and report changes to project scope, specifications, and schedule.
Prepare Design Risk Assessments and Design Logs, ensuring adherence to project timelines.
Produce discipline specifications for O&M Manuals.

Requirements:
Minimum HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable electrical design experience with a strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards, regulations, and best practices.
Knowledge of LV distribution systems, lighting, emergency lighting, small power, fire alarms, and detection systems.
Proven track record of delivering electrical projects across rail industries.
Proficient in design software packages (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, Dialux, Relux, Hevacomp, Amtech).
Strong computer (IT) literacy with exceptional attention to detail.
Team player with a self-motivated mindset and a desire for continuous learning and development.
Must reside within a commutable distance from York or be willing to relocate.
