Leicestershire County Council is seeking a skilled Independent Living Specialist to join our Home Care Assessment and Reablement Team (HART).


In this role, you will work closely with individuals with disabilities and those who are frail and recovering from illness or injury to help them achieve their full potential and regain their independence.


Your responsibilities will include providing short intensive reablement support, identifying suitable assistive technology equipment, and advising on strategies for managing fatigue and pain.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide short intensive reablement support to individuals with disabilities and those who are frail and recovering from illness or injury
  • Motivate individuals to build their confidence by identifying their goals and providing positive feedback
  • Support with daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, showering, bathing, meal preparation, and domestic activities
  • Identify suitable assistive technology equipment and demonstrate its safe use
  • Advise on strategies for managing fatigue and pain, and preventing falls


Requirements:



  • Hold a Level 2/3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or other relevant equivalent qualification)
  • Be committed to delivering high standards of care/support in an anti-discriminatory manner
  • Be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and record relevant and accurate observations
  • Be willing to attend relevant job-related training as required

Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Estimated salary range based on national averages for similar roles in the UK.
