About the Role

AO is seeking a skilled Transport Administrator to play a vital part in the operation and customer journey by ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining compliance with transport legislation.

You will work closely with our Senior Transport Supervisor and provide support to our Drivers, dealing with any issues that may arise while ensuring we remain legally compliant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for Driver queries, ensuring deliveries remain on schedule and resolving any issues.
  • Record vehicle defects and communicate to prevent off-road vehicles from being used.
  • Ensure vehicles are compliant with legislation and support with servicing and maintenance.
  • Allocate routes to Drivers for the following day, managing their expectations fairly and consistently.
  • Update daily reports for the Depot and log any issues.
  • Ensure Drivers' legal and compliant, including hours and rest.
  • Control fuel cards, issuing and reporting lost or stolen cards for replacements.
  • Raise purchase orders when required.
  • Accurately record depot time sheets for all employees.

Requirements

  • Understanding of transport legislation and logistics operations.
  • Consistent performance, adhering to time and cost guidelines.
  • Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Work well under pressure, offering solutions to resolve issues.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Competent use of Microsoft, particularly Excel.
