Maintenance Technician

Pareto FM is seeking an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks, ensuring that all building systems operate efficiently.
Main ResponsibilitiesKey Accountabilities:
- Build and maintain effective relationships with customers and internal/external suppliers, resolving service issues.
- Owning maintenance service requests from submission to completion, feeding back to the client and Facilities Management team.
- Carrying out statutory compliance tasks to all facility-related services.
- Maintaining records and updating computer-based management systems.
- Ensuring works are completed to a high standard within budget and key client requirements are met.
- Providing regular reports and updates to the Pareto FM Account Manager and the client.
- Supporting and managing subcontractors carrying out routine and emergency breakdown maintenance, both in and out of hours.
- Providing technical M&E advice and support to the client.
- Liaising with other professionals undertaking project work and contributing site and maintenance information where required.
- Liaising with the client and other Pareto FM staff to develop and disseminate national best practice in M&E maintenance and procedures.
- Meeting with and participating in site and property teams, providing technical input in other areas, such as security, health and safety, risk assessments, utility infrastructures, and counter disaster planning.
- Consulting and informing the client of work that is taking place across the site, always trying to work around lab testing and ensuring minimal downtime of lab operations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- AM2 & NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation/Maintenance
- Knowledge of BS7671 18th edition
- The ability to design new systems and additions to existing installations
- Familiarity with the general risks and hazards associated with building work, including asbestos
- A great understanding of legal compliance within maintenance and Facilities management
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office Package, including MS Excel and MS Word, and experience with security system programs, such as CCTV and access control, and CAFM systems
- The ability to independently problem-solve and undertake general maintenance tasks to a high quality
- Experience in supervising and managing contractors
- Willingness to learn and understand our systems on site, including fire alarm, heating, AC, and compressed air systems
- Some knowledge of mechanical engineering, plumbing, and building construction
- Excellent communicative and feedback skills
