Patient Scheduler

The NHS Lanarkshire Vaccination Programme is a rapidly expanding service that requires a flexible approach to day-to-day work plans and effective communication with stakeholders. As a Patient Scheduler, you will contribute to the development and operational delivery of various projects and programmes in line with the delivery of the Vaccination Service.
Key Responsibilities- Take inbound calls from the public regarding appointment queries and deal with mailbox enquiries.
- Make outbound calls to patients where necessary.
- Contribute to the development and operational delivery of projects and programmes in line with the Vaccination Service.
- Work effectively with senior management, operational staff, and the wider public.
- SVQ Level 3 in Customer Care or equivalent experience in an administrative role, preferably within an NHS environment.
- Experience in a busy contact centre or office environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational, planning, and critical thinking skills.
- Specialist knowledge of clinical services, waiting time procedures, and processes.
- Ability to handle and prioritise work, including matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.
- Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection rules.
- Understanding of Medical Terminology.
- Administrative experience in an NHS environment.
- NHS referral and appointment systems experience.
- Understanding of the benefits of booking across hospital sites.
- Knowledge of outpatient waiting times and New Ways/procedures.
- Customer care skills.
- Ability to maintain concentration in a busy office environment.
Fixed Term or Secondment until 20/09/2025.
Full-time, 37 hours per week.
This role will be based in Digital Vaccination.
