About the Role

The NHS Lanarkshire Vaccination Programme is a rapidly expanding service that requires a flexible approach to day-to-day work plans and effective communication with stakeholders. As a Patient Scheduler, you will contribute to the development and operational delivery of various projects and programmes in line with the delivery of the Vaccination Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take inbound calls from the public regarding appointment queries and deal with mailbox enquiries.
  • Make outbound calls to patients where necessary.
  • Contribute to the development and operational delivery of projects and programmes in line with the Vaccination Service.
  • Work effectively with senior management, operational staff, and the wider public.
Requirements
  • SVQ Level 3 in Customer Care or equivalent experience in an administrative role, preferably within an NHS environment.
  • Experience in a busy contact centre or office environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and critical thinking skills.
  • Specialist knowledge of clinical services, waiting time procedures, and processes.
  • Ability to handle and prioritise work, including matters of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality and data protection rules.
  • Understanding of Medical Terminology.
Desirable Skills
  • Administrative experience in an NHS environment.
  • NHS referral and appointment systems experience.
  • Understanding of the benefits of booking across hospital sites.
  • Knowledge of outpatient waiting times and New Ways/procedures.
  • Customer care skills.
  • Ability to maintain concentration in a busy office environment.
Contract Details

Fixed Term or Secondment until 20/09/2025.

Full-time, 37 hours per week.

This role will be based in Digital Vaccination.
