Improvement Strategist

About the Role:
As a highly motivated and skilled Improvement Strategist, you will be embedded in the Private Offices of the NHS Chief Executive (CEO), Chief Finance Officer (CFO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Job Summary
This is an excellent opportunity to work across a wide range of programme areas and priorities, providing high-quality analytical support to the Private Office and involving close working with Senior Leadership and Ministers.
Main Duties
- To support Urgent & Emergency Care improvement by ensuring CEO, CFO and COO have data and analytics they require to understand both UEC performance and wider NHS performance that impacts on the UEC pathways.
- To support ad hoc requests, either undertaking the work or working as air traffic control to intelligently translate, commission, direct, and support the work.
- To improve our cross-cutting approach to operational information, such as ensuring dashboards meet the immediate day-to-day needs of CEO, CFO and COO.
Responsibilities
- Ensure materials for cross-government meetings, press releases, etc. have undergone the correct fact-checking and support the strategic interest of the organisation.
- Lead and orchestrate analytical projects, including commissioning and guiding analytical teams to respond to analytical requests from the private office.
- Forge and maintain strong links between the private office and analytical teams.
- Work with external organisations on their data and analytical commissions.
- Take a forward look to support analytical insights that the CEO, CFO and COO will need in the future.
- Utilise a variety and depth of analytical techniques to provide quality, timely analysis and intelligence relating to key priorities of NHS England.
Requirements
You will need to be educated to Master's level or equivalent experience of working at a senior level relevant to urgent and emergency care.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- High level analytical skills and the ability to draw qualitative and quantitative data from a wide range of sources and present it in a clear concise manner.
- Ability to think strategically and analyse complex problems and interact in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Confident in the use of information technology and data interpretation, including SPC (statistical process control).
- Ability to work on own initiative and organise workload, allocating work as necessary, working to tight and often changing deadlines.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is £96,340-£109,849 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting.
NHS England offers a range of benefits, including flexible working, job share and part-time opportunities.
