Job Overview

Stericycle is a leading provider of compliance-based solutions that protects people and brands, promotes health and well-being, and safeguards the environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee all maintenance personnel ensuring their compliance with safety and health regulations, environmental permits, customer service, productivity, cost reduction, equipment care, housekeeping, and record-keeping.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant maintenance, including electrical and mechanical systems, and excellent leadership skills to manage a team of maintenance engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of all maintenance functions, including preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on all equipment throughout the plant
  • Conducts predictive analysis of process systems and equipment periodically to update Preventative Maintenance system
  • Identifies equipment malfunctions, generates work orders, determines proper repair procedures, and assigns appropriate personnel to accomplish the task
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, and development of Maintenance Engineers
  • Oversees contractors working at the facility to ensure quality of work, safety, housekeeping, and compliance with Stericycle policies and procedures
  • Manages the troubleshooting and repairs of electrical systems, hydraulic systems, general air pneumatics, steam and boiler systems, and power tools
  • Ensures general housekeeping of the shop and tool storage area
  • To be involved with the 'out of hours' engineering support group, providing frontline maintenance support when required

Requirements:

  • Educational equivalent to associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related work experience
  • PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENCES: COSHH, IOSH, forklift, confined space, Environmental permitting & awareness, Emissions monitoring, Accident & investigation, Permit to work, Hazard identification & risk assessment, Asbestos awareness, Legionella awareness, Fire awareness, Working at height, hand arm vibration, Electrical safety, Fire marshall, MEWP, Tower scaffold, slinging & lifting
  • Five or more years of manager/supervisory experience (EMEAA)
  • Demonstrates ability to provide safe and regulatory compliant work conditions for all team members
  • Demonstrates knowledge around continuous improvement practices
  • Demonstrates good knowledge of power wiring using 3-phase theory and wiring techniques, in addition to general wiring techniques for 110V system. Must know how to use a multi-meter for safe work practices and troubleshooting

Salary Range: £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience
