About the Job

We are recruiting for an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant to support our clients in the Bridgend area.

The role involves assisting in all aspects of accounting, including Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Staff and Site Expenses, Timesheets, and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting in all aspects of accounting, including Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Staff and Site Expenses, Timesheets, and Balance Sheet Reconciliations.
  2. Processing purchase invoices and site expenses.
  3. Managing monthly company credit card statements and checking receipts.
  4. Reconciling supplier/site expense statements and dealing with purchase enquiries.
  5. Preparing Sales Invoices and performing bank reconciliations.
  6. Assisting with the preparation of monthly MI, VAT Returns, audits, etc.

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work well as part of a small head office team.
  • Previous experience in providing high-quality bookkeeping records.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.
  • Working knowledge of Sage Line 50.
  • Highly numerate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to manage time effectively, meeting objectives and deadlines.
  • Strong and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Highly self-motivated, proactive, personable, and a team player.
  • Familiarity with UK VAT Legislation and knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and financial statements.

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
