Family Support Worker

We are seeking an enthusiastic and assertive Family Support Worker to join our team at the Chestnut Centre in Brixham. The successful candidate will deliver support to our young people and their families, providing flexible and responsive assistance in relation to educational, health, and social support available to families with SEN needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver support to young people and their families, providing flexible and responsive assistance in relation to educational, health, and social support available to families with SEN needs.
- Work closely with other agencies, including educational, health, and social services, to provide a comprehensive support package for families.
- Develop and maintain relationships with families, building trust and confidence in the support provided.
- Provide training and support to families on SEN-related issues, including advocacy and self-advocacy skills.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to SEN support.
- At least 1 year's experience of working directly with families and children/young people with SEN and disabilities.
- Training/qualifications in youth or social work to national standards (NVQ3 in a relevant discipline).
- Ability to communicate clearly and sensitively, including excellent listening skills, with young people and adults.
- Knowledge of the roles of other agencies, how other agencies work, and what is available locally and nationally.
- A full driving licence.
- Ability and willingness to travel within a reasonable catchment area.

The interview will be a panel interview along with a written task and may include other tasks on the day.
All candidates will be required to provide two references which will be taken up if shortlisted but before interview.
