Ayesa is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to spearhead our Water Structures capability, focusing on the delivery of projects in the UK and Saudi Arabia. This pivotal role requires an experienced structural engineering expert with water and wastewater experience to elevate our service offering to UK contractors and consultants. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering projects, providing technical direction, and mentoring junior engineers.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Principal Structural Engineer to drive impactful water and wastewater projects in Saudi Arabia and the UK. This role requires leading Structural Engineering expertise with water and wastewater experience to support the delivery of both client-side and contractor design/build water services projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a lead member of a project team, delivering high-quality services to clients

Integrate within our multi-disciplinary design team to deliver robust design solutions

Interface effectively with other engineering disciplines including civil, geotechnical, process, and M&E

Communicate effectively with clients and senior staff

Manage a challenging workload efficiently

Provide technical direction and mentorship to Structural Design Engineers and graduate engineers

Manage projects within time, cost, and quality constraints and standards

Exhibit a team-oriented, mature approach with exceptional interpersonal skills

Adhere to all Codes of Practice, Design Standards, and Health & Safety Regulations

Represent and promote Ayesa professionally, fostering effective working relationships with clients and potential clients

Assist in preparing tender submissions

Estimate, price, and deliver work targets accurately

Manage projects in compliance with Ayesa's Integrated Management System (IMS)

Ensure project staff are aware of and fully compliant with IMS requirements

Supervise and manage a team of three structural engineers

Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil or structural engineering

Minimum of 8 years' experience in structural design engineering

Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers or another relevant professional body

Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent understanding of Structural Design and Analysis principles

Extensive experience in contractor design and temporary works

Proven experience in water and wastewater structures or other civil engineering projects

Proven track record in delivering detailed design engineering solutions, drawings, and specifications for structural engineering projects in the UK/Ireland

Deep understanding of structural behaviour and comprehensive knowledge of current codes and standards, including Eurocodes

Thorough knowledge of structural components in buildings and other structures

Ability to understand complex problems and conceive innovative solutions

Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills

Effective communication skills with clients, colleagues, and external agencies; consistently strives to exceed client expectations
