Job Summary

We are seeking a Junior Mechanical Designer to support our Mechanical Engineering Team members on major upstream, refinery, or petrochemical projects in both domestic and international markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Support senior Mechanical Engineering Team members in mechanical design activities.
  • Develop a basic understanding of project scope of work and corporate policies and standards.
  • Gather supporting documents and information to support mechanical engineering design/deliverable activities.
  • Gain knowledge of relevant codes and standards applicable to the project and equipment requirements.
  • Utilize 2D CAD software, such as Autocad and Microstation, for mechanical design work.
  • Produce mechanical designs, calculations, and drawings using approved software and tools.

Requirements:

Must have:

  • Experience in a mechanical engineering design company or other industrial settings.
  • HNC or Degree in a relevant engineering subject.
  • Proficiency in using 2D CAD software – Autocad and/or Microstation.
  • Effective communication skills, including tactfulness and articulation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have:

  • Membership of an appropriate engineering institution.
  • Experience in the production of 3D models.
  • Site experience.
  • UK project experience.
