About the Role

Morrison Water Services, part of M Group Services Water Division, is the leading service provider in the water and wastewater infrastructure sectors in the UK. Our team provides essential infrastructure services through long-term framework agreements to the water and wastewater sectors in the UK and Ireland. We offer a broad range of technical capabilities to our clients, from asset condition assessment to design, build, commissioning, and completion. With a £2.1 billion order book and turnover at £450 million, we are market leaders in our field.

We are currently seeking a Water Design Lead to work on our Caledonia Water Alliance contract in Buchanan Tower Business Park, Stepps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute, monitor, and control engineering output for projects in terms of scope, time, cost, quality, resource, communications, risk, and stakeholder management.
  • Balance the needs of multiple projects.
  • Lead the overall technical coordination and production of multi-disciplinary outputs and designs.
  • Actively coordinate with all other internal/external project team members.
  • Participate in or lead client meetings.
  • Ensure the engineering team understands and applies the requirements of the CWA Management Systems, including Health & Safety, Environmental, and all other appropriate regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Oversee performance management, mentoring, recognition, learning, and development, and any corrective actions.
  • Approve design approach, calculations, drawings, and documents.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practice and identify innovation/best practice for consideration.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • An engineering degree qualification.
  • Chartered or Incorporated (CEng/IEng) status or working towards.
  • Leadership skills to manage multi-discipline engineering teams and create positive change.
  • Previous utility industry knowledge and experience is desirable but not essential.
  • The ability to liaise and engage with clients and key stakeholders.
  • Mentoring, guidance, and technical advice to support and supervise junior staff.
  • A proven ability to work within a team environment with a dedicated approach to meet project deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication and organisational skills.
  • Computer literacy and conversancy with the MS Office suite.
