About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Expert to join our Group Sustainability & Stewardship team. As a key member of the team, you will provide consultancy advice, analysis, and insight on sustainability and stewardship matters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing and challenging the operational emissions process, from data collection to calculation and reporting, in line with the GHG Protocol and PCAF.
  • Assisting the portfolio emissions process, including review and challenge, and knowledge of investment data.
  • Designing and implementing the carbon offset strategy, obtaining buy-in from senior stakeholders.
  • Providing consultancy advice, research, and insight on sustainability matters, including peer research, regulatory guidance, and industry best practice.
  • Supporting teams across the Group in incorporating climate change and sustainability considerations into business decision-making and organizational practices.
  • Consulting with business teams to identify improvements to sustainability approaches, identifying alternatives, assessing feasibility, and recommending new considerations.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong understanding of the pensions and asset management sectors, including business practices and priorities. Demonstrable knowledge of operational and value chain emissions, including portfolio emissions, is essential. A good understanding of GHG emissions calculation and reporting and PCAF is also required. An understanding of carbon offsetting approaches is advantageous.

Excellent analytical, writing, and presentation skills, as well as excellent all-round communication skills, are essential. Team-player with the ability to support and advise more junior members of the team.
