Job Title: Band 6 Mortuary Technician

Estimated Salary: £33,492 - £43,041 per annum (dependent on experience)

We are seeking an experienced Mortuary Technician to join our team at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our post-mortem services team, you will play a vital role in supporting the pathologists and other healthcare professionals in their work.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To participate in adult post-mortem service (and paediatric depending on experience)
  • To receive and release deceased individuals with dignity and respect
  • To prepare cadavers for post-mortem examination
  • To assist the pathologist during examinations
  • To collect tissue and body fluid samples as required
  • To operate the Faxitron and remove pacemakers as needed

Requirements:

  • RIPH Diploma in APT or BSc in a biological or forensic science and RSPH Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology
  • Anatomical Pathology Technologist experience within mortuaries
