Manufacturing Engineer Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic graduate with a passion for engineering and strong interest in fibre technologies to join our Operations Engineering Team. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will learn the products and processes in a manufacturing line focusing on fibre components and processing of fibre.

Your key responsibilities will include supporting daily output of fibre laser products in a manufacturing environment, fault finding investigations, training, and identifying improvement opportunities. You will also work within a team to provide daily support of manufacturing cells, ensure supporting documentation is up-to-date, and assist in implementing leading-edge lean manufacturing methodologies and techniques.

In addition, you will be responsible for assisting in training operators on new products, processes, and equipment, as well as supporting activities of data analysis and reporting of data for KPIs (OTD, Yield, Scrap, OEE, SPC etc.). You will also assist with NPI projects to ensure design and process requirements for manufacturing are met.

The ideal candidate will have a degree qualified in an appropriate Engineering or Science discipline, or equivalent through experience and alternative technical qualifications. They will also have minimum 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing engineering role with exposure to lean manufacturing, including value stream mapping, structured problem solving, Six Sigma, SPC, and Advanced Product Quality Planning.
