Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Rotherham. The successful candidate will work closely with students who experience a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students, helping them engage with the curriculum and develop coping mechanisms for managing emotional difficulties.

• Implement behaviour strategies to support students in maintaining positive behaviour in the classroom and other school settings.

• Foster a safe and nurturing environment, offering emotional support and guidance to help students build resilience and self-esteem.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure the holistic development of each student.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant or similar role, particularly working with students with SEMH.

• Strong empathy, patience, and a passion for helping students overcome social and emotional barriers.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.

• Flexibility and the capacity to work collaboratively within a supportive team.
