About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Lead Engineer to join our team at Medway Power Station. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for the management of our rotating assets, including two GE 9FA gas turbines and a D11 steam turbine.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Technical governance and compliance with industry best practice for rotating plant assets.
  2. Delivery of an effective outage strategy and management of outages to maximise reliability and minimise plant downtime.
  3. Budget ownership and contract management of key strategic suppliers and management of our rotating equipment contract partners.
  4. Provide technical expertise and advice to other departments in relation to rotating plant, with emphasis on maximising efficiency, plant performance and safety.
Requirements
  1. Experience within a similar role in the electricity or an equivalent engineering industry and experience of working with gas and steam turbines.
  2. Extensive engineering knowledge in relation to gas turbines and steam turbines and familiar with the types of systems and equipment used in power generation.
  3. Educated to degree level or equivalent in an engineering discipline or equivalent relevant working experience.
  4. A good knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and regulations in relation to mechanical systems and a passion for safety and successful delivery against key stakeholder requirements.
