We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Evelyn Partners. As a Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing annual financial statements, managing client portfolios, and providing VAT services.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare annual financial statements, including statutory accounts, partnership accounts, sole trader accounts, and trust accounts.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, providing accounting services and support as needed.
- Visit client premises to undertake on-site accounting needs, as required.
- Prepare and input client transactions into computerised ledger systems, as needed.
- Prepare monthly/quarterly management accounts for clients, as required.
- Prepare VAT returns, Intrastat, and ECC sales lists for clients, as needed.
- Complete other VAT services, including registration, de-registration, and options to tax, as required.
- Accuracy: Ensure transactions are treated correctly.
- Judgement: Assess situations and reach suitable conclusions, or communicate with managers when unsure.
- Planning and Organisation: Meet deadlines and manage client portfolios effectively.
- Customer Focus: Develop relationships with clients, respond to queries, and work on-site at client premises, as needed.
- Use of IT: Work with bookkeeping packages, accounts production software, and Excel.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues in the team.
- Flexibility: Assist with ad-hoc services as needed.
- Innovative: Use technology to create efficiencies in processes.
- Technical Knowledge: Be aware of FRS102, FRS102 1a, and FRS105.
- Strong academic history.
- Studying towards ACCA/ACA/AAT qualification, or evidence of suitable work experience.
- Prior experience with computerised accounting packages, including cloud-based software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Results-oriented, meeting and exceeding client expectations, with a focus on delivering high-quality work.
- Understanding of accounting standards.
