About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housing Support Worker to join our team at YMCA DownsLink Group. As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and supportive environment for young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour support to young people in our residential care setting, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful team culture, working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality care and support.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with young people, understanding their individual needs and goals.
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry, promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
- Participate in health and safety checks, maintaining a clean and safe environment for young people.
- Report any concerns or incidents to senior staff, ensuring the well-being and safety of young people.
About You:
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about working with young people, particularly those who are vulnerable or have complex needs. You will have experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of the challenges faced by homeless young people. You will be an effective communicator, able to build strong relationships with young people, colleagues, and external agencies. Your ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations will be essential in this role.
