Senior Ecologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Ecologist to join our team at Stantec UK and contribute to our mission of delivering innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex ecological issues within project contexts, including conducting ecological surveys and assessments, designing and implementing ecological mitigation and enhancement measures, and applying for and obtaining protected species licenses.
  • Mentor junior staff and help them develop their ecological skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with teams from different disciplines, such as planning, engineering, and design, to deliver high-quality work underpinned by best practices.
  • Support our existing partnerships with various water utilities and pursue new opportunities to aid our lead ecologist in expanding our client base.

Requirements:

  • Deep understanding of UK and EU wildlife legislation and policy.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with autonomy and grow professionally, as well as participate in training and networking events.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel.
