Role Overview
At Swindon Borough Council, we are committed to delivering exceptional public services. We are seeking a highly motivated Plumbing and Domestic Heating Maintenance Technician to join our team. This exciting opportunity will enable you to develop your skills and knowledge in plumbing and heating maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
As a Plumbing and Domestic Heating Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the repair and maintenance of council premises, adhering to Swindon Borough Council standards and training matrix. Your key tasks will include:
• Carrying out repairs to plumbing and central heating systems.
• Understanding and maintaining plumbing and drainage systems, including repairs to WC systems, leaky taps, or water testing and unblocking drains.
• Maintaining high levels of water hygiene within buildings.
• Understanding and maintaining plant and safety systems and equipment.
• Demonstrating and implementing energy, environment, and suitable practices.
• Understanding and maintaining grounds and external fabric of the building, including drainage and guttering.
• Demonstrating and understanding the control of resources and stock.
• Understanding and demonstrating the principles of planned preventative maintenance.
• Understanding how to prepare for refurbishment or deep cleaning of equipment and surfaces.
• Understanding the importance of customer service.

About You
We are looking for individuals with good numeracy and literacy skills, the ability to learn and apply knowledge in a practical setting, and a willingness to learn to drive. You should be able to communicate effectively with a range of people and demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems. Some experience of dealing with the public is also desirable.
