We are a global R&D business listed on AIM, seeking to strengthen our international tax agenda with the appointment of an Indirect Tax Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the internal and external SME on VAT related matters, contributing to the tax strategy from a VAT perspective.
- Contribute to tax team/cross-functional projects related to indirect taxes, monitoring the effectiveness of indirect tax controls and processes.
- Lead audits and inquiries regarding indirect tax, managing relationships with local tax authorities/external advisors.
- Determine appropriate VAT treatment for large capital projects, identifying and evaluating issues, efficiencies, and opportunities related to indirect taxes.
- Lead complex indirect tax advisory services related to international tax matters, providing support to the wider tax team on indirect tax matters.
- Identify and implement indirect tax planning opportunities and risk mitigation strategies, providing ongoing VAT advice and training to internal stakeholders.
- Build relationships with advisers and tax authorities, taking ownership of complex problems and integrating business objectives with tax compliance and strategies.
Requirements
- ACA and/or CTA qualified, with experience of indirect tax at a multinational company or mid/large accounting firm.
- Experience with improving, automating, and implementing tax processes and workflows, with a willingness to take ownership of complex problems.
