About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Systems Safety Expert to join our growing team in SYSTRA UK & Ireland. As a key member of our infrastructure design team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of system safety engineering principles and practices, with a proven track record of leading teams and managing complex projects. You will work closely with our clients to develop and implement effective safety strategies, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure the delivery of safe and reliable infrastructure solutions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement system safety management plans for large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Lead teams of engineers and technicians in the development and implementation of safety procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and mitigate potential safety risks
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
  • Mentor and train junior staff members on system safety principles and practices
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as engineering or safety science
  • Extensive experience in system safety engineering, including leadership and project management roles
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to the UK rail industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
