Learning Disabilities and Autism Lead

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Learning Disabilities and Autism Lead. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Manchester Care Group in the delivery of care and quality assurance of Mental Health services that are provided to those people with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and implement a clear process to manage the local Assuring Transformation system needs, ensuring alignment with national and local objectives and targets.
- Develop and improve the CETR process, ensuring seamless integration with other service responses.
- Design and implement processes to ensure a service response to the local Dynamic Support Plan/Register, promoting admission avoidance and supporting individuals with LD/A in the least restrictive environment.
- Develop service responses to learning from LEDER, ensuring effective implementation and evaluation.
- Develop service responses to the needs of people with LD/A in Mental Health inpatient settings, focusing on improving the quality of their experience.
- Advocate, challenge, scrutinise, and support on behalf of those people with Mental Health Needs and LD/A, providing knowledge, advice, information, and expertise to colleagues and services within the Manchester Care Group and across the local system.
- Inform the wider Trust strategic and operational work on Learning Disabilities and Autism from a Care Group perspective.
We are looking for an enthusiastic clinician with experience of working with people with Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities, and/or Autism. The ideal candidate will have:
- Current, relevant professional registration (e.g., NMC, HCPC, Social Work) and at least two years post-registration experience in a relevant role.
- Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area, plus further relevant experience or training to postgraduate level or equivalent.
The successful candidate will have:
- Recent relevant professional experience and skills to undertake all clinical and other activities required in respect of the local and national LD/A agendas.
- Understanding of and ability to use and articulate relevant law in relation to the needs of people with Mental Health needs, Learning Disabilities, and/or Autistic Spectrum conditions.
- Experience in service development and performance, ensuring a service meets performance measures and records and reports appropriately.
- Experience of multi-agency team working and developing relationships across organisational boundaries within the public sector.
