Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Research Scientist to join our team at Lifelancer. The successful candidate will work on research projects in the field of aqueous radiochemistry, focusing on the precipitation of species within a uranium bearing aqueous mixture.

About the Job

The primary purpose of this role is to perform a literature review and study the chemical interactions in a uranium bearing aqueous mixture containing various concentrations of fluoride, phosphate, and zirconium species. This involves summarizing findings in a report that provides parameters for experimental work to understand the conditions initiating precipitation and solid compounds formed.

The successful candidate will design experiments, perform thermodynamic modelling using PHREEQC, and predict solubility limits. They will also be expected to take a leading role in the research group, including management, administration, and presenting findings to industrial stakeholders.

This role requires strong knowledge and experience in radiochemistry/actinide chemistry, including safe handling of radiochemicals. A PhD qualification in inorganic chemistry, radiochemistry, or a closely related field is essential. Additionally, the ability to communicate complex scientific information effectively to industrial partners is crucial.
