About the Role

Innovations in Primary Care is seeking a skilled and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion, and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out baseline observations, including pulse oximetry, blood pressure, BMI, temperature, pulse rate, and record findings accurately.
  • Undertake wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as required.
  • Act as a chaperone as needed.
  • Perform spirometry (interpretation of results not required).
  • Complete NHS Health checks consultations.
  • Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins are replaced in accordance with infection control policy.
  • Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate.

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience of working in a GP surgery or similar care setting.
  • Ability to record accurate clinical notes.
  • Excellent communication skills (written & oral).
  • Ability to work as a team member & autonomously.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.
  • Full driving licence with the use of vehicle.
  • Spirometry (interpretation of results not required).
  • Ear Irrigation.
  • Level 2 or 3 equivalent qualification in healthcare support.

Desirable

  • Previous experience using EMIS and/or SystmOne.
  • NHS Health Checks.
