We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our team at Fairfield Consultancy Services Ltd.

This role is based in Edinburgh and involves working in a hybrid environment, with a focus on designing and implementing data architecture solutions using Microsoft Fabric.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical knowledge and hands-on experience in designing and implementing data architecture solutions.

This role involves working closely with various stakeholders to ensure that our data systems are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture Design
  1. Design and develop comprehensive data architecture solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
  2. Create detailed technical designs and documentation for data systems including data models, ETL processes, and integration strategies.
Implementation
  1. Lead the implementation of data architecture projects ensuring alignment with design specifications and best practices.
  2. Oversee the deployment and integration of data solutions within the Azure technology landscape.
Collaboration
  1. Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.
  2. Collaborate with other architects and technical leads to ensure cohesive and interoperable system designs.
Technical Leadership
  1. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams on best practices for data architecture and usage of Microsoft Fabric.
  2. Address technical challenges and provide innovative solutions to ensure system performance, scalability, and security.
Continuous Improvement
  1. Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data architecture and Microsoft Fabric.
  2. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Technical Skills
  1. Proficiency with Microsoft Fabric and its components. Strong understanding of database technologies, SQL, NoSQL, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
  2. Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure. Knowledge of data security and compliance best practices.
Soft Skills
  1. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
