About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Capital Actuary to join our Finance department at Direct Line Group. As a key member of our Capital Modelling team, you will play a vital role in monitoring, evaluating, and providing key deliverables in respect of our capital position and associated exposures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate our capital position, identifying areas for optimisation and implementing strategies to maximise profitability.
  • Develop and maintain models used for capital estimation and forecasting, communicating key movements to stakeholders and presenting to the model validation committee.
  • Support the delivery and execution of capital application projects, including reinsurance purchases, investment strategies, and capital allocation.
  • Carry out primary validation analyses, help resolve validation issues, and prepare the primary validation report.
  • Develop ad-hoc reporting tools for the internal model, focusing on risk appetites, capital allocations, and return on capital.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and technical skills, with a background in capital modelling and risk management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with Igloo/Tyche and a broad range of capital modelling techniques.
  • Passion for mentoring junior team members and sharing knowledge.
