Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker Adoption Specialist to join their team in Barnsley. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting senior colleagues with the prioritization, allocation, planning, and review of work in accordance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support senior colleagues with the prioritization, allocation, planning, and review of work in accordance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
  • Contribute to service monitoring and evaluation, undertaking needs analysis, reviewing availability of resources, and developing service practice, policies, and strategies to maintain high-quality services.
  • Provide supervision, direction, and coordination of workloads, support, and guidance, appraisal, and professional development, and support social work students on first and final placements.
  • Undertake clear and detailed service user, carer assessments, and interventions in accordance with relevant statutory requirements, minimizing risks, with consideration for service user needs and available options.
  • Manage high-complex cases, including their planning and review, promoting independence and early intervention, as well as the personalization agenda and self-directed support, to minimize risks and improve quality of life for service users and their carers.
  • Work with individuals, families, carers, and communities to help them make informed decisions, enabling them to clarify their needs, construct value for money care packages, and commission a range of appropriate services, as well as respond to their feedback regarding service provision.
  • Make proactive use of supervision to extend effective practice, reflection, and career development and to meet the objectives of Professional Development Reviews.
  • Assist in ensuring that statutory responsibilities are met and fulfilled by the team, ensuring that quality practice standards are achieved in delivering high-quality services, promoting the use of evidence and theory to support practice in complex and changing circumstances.
  • Undertake preventative work and risk assessments utilizing community resources and services such as reablement and Telehealthcare.
  • Manage complex transitions cases and chair multi-disciplinary team meetings as appropriate to specialized fields/local structures.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and analysis of recording and the use of information systems to inform good practice and maintain a focus on positive outcomes for service users and their families.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice, policy, and procedure in relation to vulnerable people, as well as keeping abreast of wider service developments to enhance the service accordingly to satisfy internal and external demands.

Requirements:

  • Social Work Degree or equivalent (DipSW, CQSW, CSS).
  • Knowledge of UK legislation relevant to children and families.
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and their families.
