Job Description

We are seeking a Wildlife Conservation Specialist to join our team at Tangram. As a Wildlife Conservation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing visitors with information about recreational opportunities and conservation projects in Aoraki/Mount Cook and the wider Eastern South Island Region.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing visitors with backcountry tramping information, weather conditions, and safety recommendations.
  • Managing stock and selling quality, conservation-related merchandise.
  • Promoting and selling national and local conservation recreation opportunities.
  • Ensuring the visitor centre always looks tidy and presentable.
  • Managing administration work, including reconciling daily and weekly banking, data entry, and invoicing.
About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) role based in Aoraki/Mount Cook. Some weekend work and public holidays will be required as part of a 7-day roster. Rental accommodation may be available for the successful applicant.

The Operations Group is responsible for delivering conservation work on the ground through our biodiversity, recreation/historic, community engagement, and visitor centre teams.
