About the Role

The CAD Designer will be responsible for creating 3D models that translate into viable working production models while reflecting the design aesthetic.

The suitable candidate for this position should have experience in CAD design and a good knowledge of fine jewellery manufacturing processes. We are seeking someone who manages their own time effectively, works in a systematic and methodical way, and enjoys collaborating and sharing knowledge with their teammates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transform 2D jewellery designs into 3D CAD models to produce printed RP resins for production moulds.
  • Collaborate closely with designers to ensure models reflect desired design aesthetics.
  • Consult with the production team to ensure the product is viable for repeat production and design out any problems that emerge during the manufacture of the test piece.
  • Design additional items for the range in the necessary size variations, both head size and finger size master patterns, as necessary.
  • Use project management tools to manage workload efficiently and ensure correct team members are assigned jobs for sign off.
  • Accurately input required data on the Spec Sheet for each design, including weight data, stone data, range layouts, and test mount information.
  • Produce identifying line drawings for each component, which are used on production tickets.
  • Follow print guidelines when creating STL files and liaise with the 3D print and casting teams to overcome obstacles for repeat manufacture and non-standard priorities.

Candidate Requirements

  • Prior CAD design experience.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Accurate and attentive to details.
  • Proactivity and problem-solving skills.

  • Knowledge of jewellery manufacture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with a readiness to learn new software.
