Sterile Services Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our Sterile Services team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Sterile Services Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care by maintaining and preparing medical devices for use in operating theatres and other clinical areas.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, receive, check, and wash surgical instruments and medical devices from clinical areas.
- Deliver and collect clean and used endoscopes from local sites using Trust vehicles.
- Assemble and check medical devices across various surgical specialties using Departmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- Provide and receive routine information and work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Carry out duties in accordance with Departmental Policies and demonstrate activities to new staff during training.
- Organize daily work tasks and make judgments on job-related facts and situations.
- Work within the departmental quality management system, ensuring accurate record-keeping and adherence to written processes.
- Visit wards and departments to requisition and deliver sterile supplies and cover external customer pack deliveries.
- Store and rotate sterile packs in the Sterile Store to ensure rapid turnover.
- Put up stock for customers outside the Trust.
- Aware of Health & Safety at Work Act provisions and comply with the Trust's Immunisation Policy.
- Good general education at GCSE Level or equivalent.
- Packaging and assembly, and/or customer services experience.
- Working in a hospital environment.
- Previous experience of working with a Quality Management system using Standard Operating Procedures.
- Onsite training and support.
