Platinum Recruitment Consultancy has partnered with an award-winning Gastro Pub set just outside of Newbury. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Sous Chef to lead a fresh food kitchen and oversee pastry and desserts as well.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist the Head Chef in selecting dishes that reflect the local area and help local suppliers in both the Main kitchen and pastry Kitchen.
  2. Prepare daily savory and pastry dishes, contribute to recipe development, and ensure quality.
  3. Guide and train junior chefs and kitchen assistants.
  4. Monitor ingredients, manage stock, and control costs.
  5. Ensure cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations.
  6. Coordinate with other kitchen sections for smooth operation.
  7. Occasionally interact with guests for feedback and menu explanations.
  8. Assist with staff scheduling and maintaining records.
