Job Title: Security Officer

Blue Arrow Belfast is seeking a reliable and experienced Security Officer to join our team. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our client, a reputable University based in Belfast BT9 area.

Job Summary:

This is a temporary ongoing role offering 36.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will work on a 9-week rota, including nights and weekends, with three shift rotations: 07.00 - 15.00, 15.00 - 23.00, and 23.00 - 07.00. You will be required to perform various duties, including patrolling the college grounds, checking the security of buildings, and enforcing college regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Enforce all college regulations relating to security, traffic, and car parking.
  2. Patrol the college grounds and check the security of buildings to prevent burglary, theft, vandalism, fire, etc.
  3. Lock up and open certain buildings at specified times and perform internal checks when required.
  4. Perform rota gate duty, check in visitors, and attend the automatic telephone answering machine when the switchboard is unattended.
  5. Patrol halls areas, deal with any issues that may arise.
  6. Prepare accurate written reports when required.
  7. Record and maintain records of body camera recordings in line with college procedures.
  8. Assist in the evacuation of buildings in the event of an emergency.
  9. Administer first aid as required (training will be provided).
Requirements:
  1. At least one year's security experience of external foot patrolling and static guarding.
  2. A full current driving license (this criterion may be waived in the case of a person whose disability prohibits driving).
  3. The ability to communicate clearly and experience of preparing accurate written reports.
  4. Experience of traffic control and management.
  5. Willingness to undertake SIA (Security Industry Authority) level 2 Door Supervisor training.
  6. Willingness to undertake first aid training.
