Job Title: Financial Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at North Star. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing financial reports, records, and accounts to aid management decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare month-end analysis on New Build Capex projects, liaising with the business to ensure accurate cost-to-complete reporting.
  2. Submit month-end reporting packs for private equity investors.
  3. Complete backlog calculations and associated reporting for board packs.
  4. Prepare monthly 13-week cash forecasts, reviewing against actuals and long-term models.
  5. Produce reforecasts and prepare associated board packs, liaising with the business to ensure all relevant issues are identified within reporting timelines.
  6. Develop and ensure suitable finance processes and controls are in place, adhering to compliance and periodic reviews.
  7. Oversight of the Balance Sheet Reconciliation process, improving reconciliations and completion on a timely basis.
  8. Support the department during ERP implementation to enhance reporting, processes, procedures, and internal controls framework.
  9. Support the department during year-end audit, liaising with external auditors and ensuring support and backup are provided as per timelines.
  10. Provide general finance support to all members of staff.
  11. Supervise staff as opportunities arise.

Requirements:

  1. At least 5 years of finance experience in a similar role.
  2. Computer literacy in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Personal Qualities/Characteristics:

  1. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  2. Meet busy/tight month-end deadlines.
  3. Good communication skills.
  4. Strong organizational skills.
  5. Professional manner.
  6. Attention to detail.
