About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our Eating Disorders team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As an Eating Disorders Specialist, you will work closely with children and adolescents who are struggling with eating disorders, providing comprehensive assessments, interventions, and support to help them achieve a healthy and positive relationship with food and their bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Provide evidence-based interventions, including individual and group therapy sessions, to help patients overcome their eating disorders.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care and support for patients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families, providing education and support to help them understand and manage eating disorders.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop treatment plans.
Requirements
- Good understanding of Child and Adolescent Mental Health issues.
- Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to local systems, processes, and procedures.
- Knowledge of and adherence to organisational procedures.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Post Registration Qualification in Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
- Child Protection, child development, working with families.
- Experience in assessment and clinical interventions.
- Working within a team.
