Job Summary

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Driving Instructor to join our team at 14 Regiment Royal Artillery. As a Driving Instructor, you will play a crucial role in providing education and instruction to our trainees on how to drive military vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach trainees on the theory of driving military vehicles to the correct standards in line with policy
  • Teach trainees on motor transport documentation
  • Educate trainees on how to drive a military vehicle on public roads and cross country (by day and night) to the standards in line with policy
  • Educate trainees on other SDC related skills such as:
    • Vehicle components
    • Convoy and tactical driving skills
    • Use of Camouflage
    • Vehicle maintenance
    • Break down procedures
    • Accident procedures
    • Securing vehicle loads
    • Use of route cards
  • Manage testing regimes and associated paperwork

Requirements

  • Hold a Category C Driving Licence (held for a minimum of 2 years with no more than 3 penalty points)
  • Hold a C+E Licence for a minimum of 3 months
  • Have a DBS (Disclosure Barring Services) Security clearance check
  • Be able to deliver Specialist Training
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments
  • Coach/Mentor students within the vocational training environment
