Role Overview

As a Stewarding Supervisor at Fairmont Royal York, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our stewarding department. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain the high quality of service standards required by the hotel, while also ensuring a seamless day-to-day operation of the department.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining the highest standards of service quality
  • Ensuring efficient inventory management of china, glassware, and silverware
  • Minimizing loss and breakage of china, glassware, and silverware
  • Assisting with daily staff requirements and organizing staff for each outlet
  • Ensuring punctuality and adherence to safety procedures
  • Assisting with storage and issuance of supplies
  • Fostering open communication with kitchen, banquets, and other departments
  • Following health and safety rules and procedures
  • Acting as a team leader and motivator to employees
  • Assisting the Director of Stewarding and Stewarding Manager with job-related tasks
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Hotel Management Diploma (an asset)
  • A good understanding of health and safety laws and proven track record
  • Strong leadership and communication skills

Physical Aspects of the Position:

  • Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps
