Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at Reed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment, ensuring the warehouse is clean and organized, and supporting the transport supervisor with imports and exports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the remote handling cell to load and unload high activity sources.
  • Record all receipts and dispatches of sources accurately.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all sources, including their locations within the building.
  • Ensure packages for dispatch are correctly labelled in accordance with transport regulations.
  • Collect and deliver goods, and support the organisation of UK collections and deliveries.
  • Service projectors and radiographic customer equipment at our site and customer sites.
  • Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and organised.
  • Complete scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Sentinel range of projectors and equipment, including how to load and maintain them.
  • Understand the safety and security aspects of handling and transporting high activity sources.
  • Perform weekly checks on personal electronic dosimeters and radiation protection equipment.
  • Conduct daily start-up and shutdown of the warehouse.
  • Support in the return of sources to the original manufacturer.
  • Assist the Transport supervisor with imports and exports.
  • Manufacture small components as needed.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a similar role, preferably within a technical or engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of handling and transporting high activity sources is highly desirable.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and inventories.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and maintenance tasks.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
