Engineering Team Leader

We're seeking a skilled Engineering Team Leader to lead our engineering shift team and drive maximum machine availability targets. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for planning and prioritizing shift workloads, executing preventative maintenance schedules, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-performing engineering shift team to achieve production targets and maximize machinery uptime.
  • Plan and prioritize shift workloads to ensure efficient use of resources and minimize downtime.
  • Execute preventative maintenance schedules to maintain equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations, including food safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
Requirements:
  • Relevant mechanical or electrical engineering qualification, ideally at NVQ L3.
  • Supervisory experience and knowledge of permit systems, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Practical experience of fault finding on various types of manufacturing machinery.
  • PLC awareness and fault finding capabilities.
  • Understanding of engineering systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • Food or wider FMCG manufacturing experience is desirable.
